Alec Bolen - Rosewater (@AlenBolec)

Oregon emcee Alec Bolen's "Rosewater" EP was a full year in the making. The concept behind the project follows the story of a young man who meets and falls in love with a girl. The record then proceeds to go through the different phases of their relationship. Alec displays the sides of relationships that the ego exaggerates such as love, lust and infatuation. Bolen's creative process for the album was a bit unorthodox but a formula the budding lyricist fares quite well doing. The EP title, tracklisting and all beats were selected prior to the writing of it. The instrumentals selected are all in the ultra chilled lane. "Rosewater" is an album that caters to both Hip Hop enthusiasts and couples. Brud Giles recorded and mixed the project at Fremont Recording and Dana White from Specialized Mastering mastered everything.

"This album has been an elevating experience for me in every aspect for me as an artist. From song-writing to branding, this record is my first official release tha'ts mine and that, from me, is a statement saying “I’m here”. I’m not just trying to make music, I’m really trying to take this to the next level."

Seven tracks in total and containing the lead single "Autumn to Winter", Alec Bolen strays from the over-saturated turn up type of music. His laid back voice lays well over the beats choices. After a few spins thru, "Rosewater" has more than one main meaning behind it. After further examination, the meaning takes on a triple entendre that listeners need to decipher themselves. Quench your love thirst with a healthy dose of "Rosewater" on Spotify then stick around to view the official video behind "Autumn to Winter" following.

Taiyamo Denku Ft Conway The Machine - Be Who You Are @TaiyamoDenku @dcypha

Cypha Den Music and Griselda Records team together for the wake up record, "Be Who You Are", produced by Dcypha

In an industry designed on a smoke and mirrors approach, Taiyamo Denku and Conway The Machine fan out the air pollution and smash the looking glass with this riveting single from Denku's forthcoming album, "No Industry Standard". Dcypha constructs the instrumental with blues guitars, subtle organs and horn snippets. Denku and Conway hit the track with revealing lyrics that simply state, no matter what, "Be Who You Are". Complete with a clever audio clip from Barney Fife of "The Andy Griffith Show", the record is an ideal wake up call for listeners to stop being untrue to themselves. Listen to the song below.

David Cobo’s story is one of a man fighting for freedom. Freedom from social constructs, freedom from haters and freedom to speak the truth. Born in Angola and raised in Austin, Texas, Cobo is no stranger to change. In his new video for “No One,” Cobo takes us through his artistic evolution, putting his heart on his sleeve in this no-holds-barred new video.

The “No One” music video starts with Cobo in his creative sanctuary, ravaging his journal, obsessively writing and rewriting lyrics by himself. When the second verse drops, he is found following the train tracks, eluding to his journey as an artist. His passion, alone, is enough for him to follow this path blindly, fueled by the desire to stick it to the ones who don’t believe in him. For the final verse, Cobo makes it to the studio, where he spills his heart out to the microphone.

In his own words, Cobo states: “Originality is the main key to success. When you’re yourself you can’t be anything but yourself… Never let anyone tell you what you can or can’t do; stay true to yourself and fight for what you believe in.”
